Spora rzesza rodziców wysyła swoje dzieci na treningi sztuk walki, ale niestety, niewielu z nich zdaje sobie sprawę z tego, co ma miejsce na sali treningowej, jakie umiejętności i wartości wpajane są ich pociechom. Zaryzykuję stwierdzenie, że intencją niewielu rodziców jest chęć posiadania przez ich pociechy umiejętności bicia się. Co w takim razie poprzez trening samoobrony i walki możemy przekazać? Co obok nauki uderzeń, kopnięć, rzutów, obron, można zaproponować?
Co się ćwiczy?
W treningu Krav Maga stawia się akcent na rozumienie, że w życiu występują sytuacje o różnym poziomie agresji i nie zawsze fizyczna odpowiedź jest tym, co wybierzemy jako najlepsze rozwiązanie. Dzieci uczone są rozwiązywania konfliktów pokojowo. Kontakt fizyczny jest ostatecznością, kiedy zostały wyczerpane wszelkie inne formy działania. Samoobrona bezpośrednio odnosi się do sytuacji zaskoczenia, czyli takiej, kiedy nie ma się możliwości przygotowania do starcia fizycznego. Krav Maga poprzez szereg ćwiczeń przygotowuje do szybkiego podejmowania decyzji o ataku, obronie lub ucieczce. Uczy również opanowania emocji i stresu, niewątpliwie, pojawiających się w czasie konfliktu. Krav Maga to również taki trening ciała, aby sprostało ono wszelkim wymogom życia oraz trudnym sytuacjom, a więc – siła, szybkość, gibkość, koordynacja, zwinność.

To co jest jednak zdecydowanie najważniejsze w Krav Maga to obserwacja, jak szybko dzieci poprzez wykonywanie stawianych przed nimi zadań treningowych o zwiększającym się poziomie trudności, dokonują przemian w swoim zachowaniu, stając się bardziej pewne swoich umiejętności (nie tylko kraverskich), stają się bardziej otwarte na znajomości, uporządkowane, poprawiają swoje relacje z otoczeniem, jednocześnie potrafiąc wyznaczyć granicę i umiejąc jej bronić. Powszechną obserwacją jest, że osoby ćwiczące rozmaite systemy samoobrony i walki, ze względu na mimowolne wysyłanie sygnału do otoczenia typu „nie będę łatwą ofiarą”, zdecydowanie rzadziej się nimi stają.
Obok postępów poczynionych w stosowaniu technik samoobrony i walki uczą się jak podjęte działania i wysiłek włożony w naukę owocują osiąganiem umiejętności, co przekłada się na całe życie. Uczą się porządku i dyscypliny oraz tego, że powtarzalność pewnych działań przynosi rezultaty.
Wchodząc na salę treningową zobowiązują się do przestrzegania reguł, które przenoszą się na inne sfery życia. Szacunek dla swojego partnera, trenera, rozważne wykonywanie ćwiczeń, dbałość o swoje ciało i jego rozwój, to tylko niektóre z nich. Najlepszym przykładem wpływu treningu sztuk, sportów i systemów walki jestem ja sam. Z cherlawego, chorowitego, wstydliwego dziecka stawałem się coraz bardziej pewny siebie, ufny we własne siły, zmieniła się moja sprawność i relacje z otoczeniem. W Krav Maga nie ma zawodów, brak jest presji drużyny, każdy uczy się we własnym tempie. Opanowanie techniki może zająć tydzień, miesiąc lub dłużej, ale w końcu cel zostanie osiągnięty.
